What are Custom Fields?

Custom fields are used to add more details to almost anything in Clientjoy, including Leads, Customer, Company, Items, and Payments. Such as - Industry, Vertical, Company size, HSN code, GSTN number, VAT, FAT, etc.

Type of custom fields

There are 4 different types of custom fields:

  • Text

  • Date

  • Select

  • Multi-select

  • Number

How to add a custom field?

You can add custom fields for five different modules as per your business requirements which are - Leads Module, Customer Module, Invoice Module, Items Module, and Company Module.

In order to add Custom field to different modules you need to follow some basic steps:

 

A. Adding Custom fields under the leads module.

  1. Navigate to settings.

  2. Select Custom Field as an option from the sidebar.

  3. Click on + Add Custom Field Button.

  4. Choose the Leads module from the drop down.

  5. Give a name to the custom field you want to create.

  6. Select the appropriate type. ( Text, Date, Select, Multiselect, and Number).

  7. You can mark the toggle if you want the custom field to be mandatory.

  8. Click on Save.

 

Note: The user can not create the same Custom field again for the same module.

 

B. Adding Custom fields under the Customer module.

  1. Navigate to settings.

  2. Select Custom Field as an option from the sidebar.

  3. Click on + Add Custom Field Button.

  4. Choose the Customer module from the drop-down.

  5. Give a name to the custom field you want to create.

  6. Select the appropriate type. ( Text, Date, Select, Multiselect, and Number).

  7. You can mark the toggle if you want the custom field to be mandatory.

  8. Click on Save.

 

 

C. Adding Custom fields under the Invoice module.

  1. Navigate to settings.

  2. Select Custom Field as an option from the sidebar.

  3. Click on + Add Custom Field Button.

  4. Choose the Invoice module from the drop-down.

  5. Give a name to the custom field you want to create.

  6. Select the appropriate type. ( Text, Date, Select, Multiselect, and Number).

  7. You can mark the toggle if you want the custom field to be mandatory.

  8. Click on Save.

 

 

D. Adding Custom fields under the Items module.

  1. Navigate to settings.

  2. Select Custom Field as an option from the sidebar.

  3. Click on + Add Custom Field Button.

  4. Choose the Item module from the drop-down.

  5. Give a name to the custom field you want to create.

  6. Select the appropriate type. ( Text, Date, Select, Multiselect, and Number).

  7. You can mark the toggle if you want the custom field to be mandatory.

  8. Click on Save.

 

 

E. Adding Custom fields under the Company module.

  1. Navigate to settings.

  2. Select Custom Field as an option from the sidebar.

  3. Click on + Add Custom Field Button.

  4. Choose the Company module from the drop-down.

  5. Give a name to the custom field you want to create.

  6. Select the appropriate type. ( Text, Date, Select, Multiselect, and Number).

  7. You can mark the toggle if you want the custom field to be mandatory.

  8. Click on Save.
